新款 27 寸 iMac 的低端版本配置了 Radeon HD 4670 显卡，采用的是台积电 55nm 工艺，这款芯片的上市时间已有一年。在 iMac 狭小的空间内采用 4670 是明智的，它的散热设计功耗小于 70 瓦，而事实的满载功率只有 59 瓦，在性能上接近 3850，功率相比而言却少了许多，对普通应用而言是足够了。
也许苹果认为，即便如此发热量仍然过大，因此它将核心频率从默认的 750MHz 调整到 680MHz，幅度接近 10% ；不过显存频率调整不大，只下降了 10MHz，这样整体的性能便介乎与 4670 和 4650 之间（4650 的 GPU 频率是 600MHz）。这一发现是由 Netkas 透过查看 BIOS 发现的，详细的参数在下部的图片中。
由于在 Mac OS X 10.6.2 测试版中发现了 Radeon 46、45 和 43 系的驱动程序，因此引用这则消息的 Hardmac 网站认为在下一代 MacBook Pro 有可能采用上述芯片。嗯，请苹果考虑 40nm 的 GPU 吧。
